Governors

Greythorn Primary School has a Local Governing Body (LGB) which meets each half term.  The LGB is an important tier in the management of the school. The meetings help to inform the Trustees of the Flying High Trust about the strengths and development areas of the school.

The LGB is made up by the following people:

Martyn Harris -

I have been a Governor at Greythorn for twelve years, and Chair for the last eight. Although my son has now left Greythorn, I have committed to remain on the Governing Body to support and challenge, so we can continue to strive to become the best school in the universe (as well as West Bridgford). I work for Nottinghamshire County Council within Adult Social Care & Health, and have done for the past twenty years. Outside of work and school, I enjoy the theatre, eating out, and following the trials and tribulations of Manchester United. If you see me around the school, please do come and speak to me, as I am always interested in the views of our community.

I've been a parent Governor since February 2020. I work at Nottingham College as an Advanced Practitioner for the Quality team. In my role I do some teaching, but mostly I support teachers in their development with a view to improve overall quality. Before starting at Nottingham College in May 2016, I worked in the private sector for a chain of language schools in Russia for which I was the Head of the Academic Department, overseeing the quality and development of the teachers and courses in over 60 centres across the country. At Greythorn, my role entails overseeing the Pupil Premium provision, and I am currently Vice-Chair of the Governing body too.
