School Closure
Procedures regarding what to do and where to look in the event of school closures.
In the event of a school closure (eg snow, heating/water issues), we will send a text and Dojo message to all parents to advise them of the closure and how to access remote education for their children. If it is due to snow it will be broadcast on BBC Radio Nottingham.
If the school has to be closed during the school day for any reason, we will send a text and Dojo message to all parents to advise them of the closure and to inform you how and when to collect your children. If you need someone else to pick up your child in these circumstances, you must send a Dojo message to your child's class teacher informing them. Alternatively, you can email the school office office@greythorn.notts.sch.uk to let us know. There will always be staff at school until all children have been collected.
BBC Radio Nottingham broadcasts school closures on weekday snow-days from 0600-1900. Where possible, please try not to ring the school office to ask if the school will be closed. We will let you know via the systems above. If you have not heard that school will be closed via text or Dojo message, then the school will still be open.
Please ensure that the office has your up to date phone number and email address. Thank you, we really appreciate you support with this.
